Texture Selection Guide
Choosing the right texture is one of the most important decisions when ordering a stippling service.
Every shooter has different priorities. Some want maximum comfort for concealed carry, while others prioritize the most aggressive grip possible for competition or adverse conditions.
This guide will help you determine which texture best fits your firearm, application, and personal preference.
Choosing the Right Texture
Every shooter has different preferences. Some prioritize comfort for extended handling, while others want the most aggressive grip possible.
At Singuard Solutions, we offer three primary texture options designed to fit a variety of applications and shooting styles.
Velvet Texture
Aggressiveness: ★★★★★☆☆☆☆☆ (5/10)
Best For:
- Everyday carry
- Long shooting sessions
- Sensitive hands
- Users seeking enhanced grip without excessive abrasion
Velvet provides a comfortable, refined texture that offers increased control while remaining easy on the hands. It is ideal for shooters who want improved traction without the aggressive feel of competition-oriented textures.
Unlike more aggressive textures, Velvet is less likely to cause discomfort against skin or accelerate wear on clothing during concealed carry. This makes it an excellent option for everyday use and appendix carry.
Recommended for:
- Everyday carry firearms
- Home defense firearms
- Recreational shooters
- General-purpose firearms
Nanoburst Texture
Aggressiveness: ★★★★★★★☆☆☆ (7/10)
Best For:
- Duty use
- Training environments
- All-around performance
Nanoburst strikes an excellent balance between comfort and control. It provides significantly more traction than Velvet while remaining comfortable during extended range sessions and daily use.
For many customers, Nanoburst represents the ideal middle ground and is often the most versatile option for defensive, training, and all-purpose firearms.
Recommended for:
- Defensive firearms
- Competition shooters
- Multi-purpose builds
Dragon Scales Texture
Aggressiveness: ★★★★★★★★★☆ (9/10)
Best For:
- Maximum control
- Competition use
- Adverse conditions
Dragon Scales is our most aggressive texture offering. The raised scale pattern delivers exceptional traction and control, helping maintain a secure grip during rapid strings of fire, wet conditions, or heavy recoil.
While Dragon Scales offers the highest level of traction, it may be more abrasive against skin and clothing than our other texture options.
Recommended for:
- Competition setups
- Performance-focused shooters
Note: Texture preference is highly subjective. What feels perfect to one shooter may feel too aggressive or too mild to another. The ratings below are intended as a general guide to help compare the relative aggressiveness of each texture.
Quick Comparison Table
| Texture | Comfort | Grip | Best Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Velvet | High | Moderate | Everyday Use / Carry |
| Nanoburst | Medium-High | High | Duty / General Purpose |
